Long Beach MN Calls for Sealed Bids for New City Administration Building

The city of Long Beach, Minnesota, is officially inviting contractors to submit sealed bids for the construction of a new city administration building, aiming to enhance the city's facilities with a state-of-the-art building. This invitation is in accordance with Minnesota state statutes, ensuring a transparent and competitive bidding process.

The new city hall project, which has been in the planning stages for several years, seeks to replace the existing city hall, which is aging and has been insufficient for the growing administrative needs of Long Beach. The proposed facility will include city offices, public meeting space, and wastewater utility infrastructure to serve the community better.

The City Council has released detailed bid documents which include specifications for the construction, timeline for completion, and compliance requirements with local and state regulations. Prospective bidders must adhere to stringent quality standards and demonstrate a proven track record in managing large-scale construction projects.

Bids must be submitted by registered mail by the deadline set for end of day on July 5, 2024. Late submissions will not be considered. All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the Long Beach City Council Regular meeting in July, ensuring a transparent selection process.

A pre-bid meeting will be held on June 24, 2024, from 4 pm–6 pm at the current city hall, providing an opportunity for interested contractors to gather more information and ask questions regarding the project.

The city of Long Beach encourages local and minority-owned businesses to participate in the bidding process, aligning with its commitment to diversity and economic empowerment in the community.
